Located in Downtown Phoenix's Coronado District, The Velo Bike Shop strives to increase ridership in the metropolitan city center. Having moved to their location on 7th St to be closer to the neighborhoods they serve, The Velo provides exceptional service to the cycling community. Surrounded by murals, on a central street backed by quiet roads full of the homes of proud owners, we encourage you to experience the culture up close and personal - on two wheels! When you are out on your bicycle, we see you. A cyclist breathes the air, can enjoy the perfume of the flowers blooming in the gardens, can wave hello, stop to converse, not be a faceless honk from a climate controlled environment behind tinted windows. General Manager

Justin McCloud

The Velo’s chief of going fast and knowing stuff, Justin brings the same style and precision to the workbench as he does to the trail. A Phoenix native with a background in competitive skating, he’s no stranger to going full send. After years as a professional enduro racer, Justin dialed in his skills as a true suspension expert and master bike technician.

When he’s not tuning shocks or leading shop builds, you’ll find him chasing down desert singletrack, spinning big road miles across the valley, testing gear, or hunting for the best post-ride snacks. A lifelong learner, Justin’s always eager to share what he’s discovered—whether it’s a better line, a smoother setup, or just a good story.

Jeevan Philip

Jeevan is what we call a true bike nerd—Never Ending Research & Development. With a background as a competitive swimmer, runner, and draft-legal triathlete, his passion for performance started early. While earning his Bachelor of Science at the University of Washington with a focus on aerodynamics and biomechanics, Jeevan discovered bike racing—and never looked back.

Now a Category 1 road racer, Jeevan blends engineering insight with real-world experience to help riders get faster, more comfortable, and more confident. His scientific mind, meticulous attention to detail, and endless curiosity make his bike fittings second to none.

When he’s not matching riders to their perfect setup, Jeevan also serves as a Senior Coach at Swim Neptune, one of Arizona’s top swim teams. Whether he’s chasing watts or helping others chase theirs, Jeevan brings passion, kindness, and precision to everything he does. Just don’t ask how many wind tunnel studies he’s read lately—unless you’ve got a few hours.

Charles Barkley aka Charlie

Charlie is The Velo’s four-legged morale booster, greeting customers with a wag and keeping the crew in check with his chill energy. Equal parts nap specialist and snack opportunist, Charlie takes his responsibilities seriously—especially when it comes to inspecting ride snacks and supervising repairs from the comfort of a sunny corner. He doesn’t say much, but he’s a key part of what keeps the stoke high and the vibes just right.
